Hope For Kids ʻEkolu
Building upon the work completed during Hope for Kids ʻEkahi and ‘Elua, in January 2024 Hope for Kids ‘Ekolu launched with a long-term goal of all keiki in Hawaiʻi having access to high quality ʻāina-based education opportunities. To make progress towards this goal, the Foundation is focusing on three strategies:
-
‘Ekolu Cohort
partnering with nine ʻāina-based education organizations working closely with Hawaiʻi DOE and/or charter schools to provide ʻāina-based learning opportunities for teachers and students;
-
Advocacy
elevating the value and importance of ʻāina-based learning through advocacy efforts;
-
Systems Change in the DOE
engaging in and supporting efforts within the Hawaiʻi DOE to provide access to ʻāina-based learning for teachers and students and recognizing ʻāina-based education as an essential medium for teaching and learning.
