Aloha!
Last November, Janis shared with you that she had told the Board of her plans to transition from her role as the Foundation’s executive director at the end of October 2023. Janis’ plans are consistent with a leadership transition plan that the Board and Janis developed together over many years to ensure continuity and longevity for the Foundation. Despite the fact that this transition is planned, it still comes with heartache. We will miss Janis’ leadership and are deeply grateful for all she has given to the Foundation and to our partners over the years.
To ensure the Foundation has the best leader possible for our future, the Board has decided to conduct a search. We have asked Josh Levinson to help us in this process. We chose Josh because he has experience with leadership transitions and executive searches in the nonprofit sector in Hawai‘i. Furthermore, he knows and values the work of the Foundation and the ecosystems that we work within. Given his expertise, knowledge, and heart for our collective work, we believe Josh will be an important partner to us in the selection of the Foundation’s next leader.
We are excited to announce that we are beginning the search to find an individual to lead the Foundation into the future. The details of the opportunity are outlined in this position announcement. Here you will find details about the position including the leadership competencies the Foundation is seeking, a job description, information on benefits and starting salary range, as well as information on how to apply and the deadline date for doing so.
The Foundation’s work is defined by partnership. At this time in our history, we are looking to our partners to help us identify and recruit our next leader. We know we can count on you. Please share this news with anyone you know who might be interested in considering this position. And if you have questions about the posting, please contact Josh Levinson at jplevinson@gmail.com or 808-351-7386.
Mahalo nui,
James, Kylee, Barbara, and Anim
