Paepae o Heʻeia
Paepae o Heʻeia (POH) is a non-profit organization, founded in 2001, dedicated to caring for He‘eia Fishpond – an 88-acre, 800-year old, ancient Hawaiian fishpond located in He‘eia, Ko‘olaupoko, O‘ahu. Their vision is to perpetuate a foundation of cultural sustainability for communities (‘ohana) of Hawaiʻi through education. Their mission is to implement values and concepts from the model of a traditional fishpond to provide intellectual, physical, and spiritual sustenance for their community. They utilize the strengths and uniqueness of the fishpond as a place of learning, weaving ancestral knowledge together with western methodologies to realize their vision.
