HHOC Mortgage (HHOCM)

HHOC Mortgage (HHOCM) is a certified Community Development Financial Institution that was started in 2009 to offer affordable financing options and additional opportunities to low to moderate income buyers pursuing home ownership. These affordable financing options include a Down Payment Assistance Loan and Deferred Closing Cost Assistance Loan. To ensure homeownership sustainability, all HHOCM borrowers attend home buyer education classes and at least one counseling session with HHOCM’s affiliate organization, Hawaiʻi HomeOwnership Center (HHOC). HHOC provides education, information and support to create successful first-time homeowners in Hawaiʻi.

The Foundation has partnered with HHOCM to support expansion of a pilot loan program, called Mortgage Booster, which provides an additional affordable financing option for those pursuing home ownership. Through this partnership, HHOCM will be able to expand the program from Maui and Hawaiʻi Counties to include Kauaʻi and Honolulu Counties as well.
