Our founder and benefactor, Helga Glaesel-Hollenback, originally hailed from Germany. Late in her life, Helga moved to the United States and made Honolulu her home. In 1990, she established Hauʻoli Mau Loa Foundation.

In a practice set by the benefactor, the Board of Directors of Hauʻoli Mau Loa Foundation carries out its responsibilities and duties by working closely with program staff in a collaborative team approach.

The greatest assets of any organization are its people, and the Foundation is no different. From Honolulu to Hilo, we are pleased to introduce you to our staff.

Take a stroll through the Foundation's history and the milestones that continue to shape its mission.
